Hey,
I just have been singing like crazy lately at weddings, women's retreats, funerals, church services... you name it, and was just thinking, how *I Think Your Mom's Calling...Time To Go Home Now* into this more? I love to sing and people have encouraged me to get out there more. So my question to all you educated folk, is HOW? How do I get beyond weddings and funerals? How do you get yourself heard by people who can do something about it? From reading the messages posted, it sounds like there are many of us strugglers out there wondering if we could"make it" and just want to be told yay or nay. I'm not shy about criticism, just want to find someone who can do it. Wink

So what's up with that random *I think your mom's calling...* that popped into the middle of my message? I've seen it on someone elses too. Weird.

Hi, I'm new to this board also. I know what you have been going through. I'm a saxophone player and love doing Christian songs on a similar style as Kenny G. I did a lot of weddings but refuse to do funerals, and like you many people encouraged me to do more.

Finally a well known jazz musician in the secular world heard me play and simply told me if I am really serious about going to the next level I need to put together a quality demo tape and send it to as many record companies as possible. He even agreed to help with contacts when my demo is completed.

We Christian artists have got to stop waiting for someone to discover us and work just as hard as secular artists do to be heard. The advantage we have is that God is on our side, and if we ask Him to he will open the doors for us to walk through.

I hope this helps.
