This forum topic was suggested by Delred. Good idea!
I work full time as a music producer and I can tell you first hand that most Christian artists don't have the business end down. God will guide you to ideas and resources, but he's not going to do it for you... well, you know what I mean.
I hope this becomes an active forum to help new artists. If you've been the subject of a scam or poor business planning in the past, please share with us so our members don't make the same mistakes!

FYI - Overall the best "marketers" with business plans that I meet are punk and hard core bands, believe it or not! |

I have just discovered this bulletin board, so forgive me if you have seen my name in one too many places here today! I am particularly interested in the "business" end of things. As a band, we have adopted a policy of "no charge" for anywhere we play, trying to take "money" out of the picture completely. The question then becomes, how to adequately finance and market a sucessful "artist". I have very little experience with my instrument alone, and even less with the aspect of marketing my band. Anyone with a list of resources, or basic tips would be greatly appreciated!!
